Samuel Brame

Samuel Brame was born 25 APR 1748, son of Richens Brame II and Susannah Chiles. He married Elizabeth Childs. I have been told that she was daughter of one Dr. William Chiles of Caroline Co., VA, though I have never proven that fact.

Per his will, Samuel Brame passed away in May of 1820. Since Elizabeth is listed in the census of 1820, it can be assumed that she outlived him.

  1. Samuel Childes Brame, d. 3 OCT 1829 in Autauga Co., AL. m. 6 JAN 1807 Elizabeth (Betsey) Yancey, d. 12 SEP 1823 in Petersburg, VA.

  2. David Brame, m. 28 NOV 1807 Barbara Hester. Per Mecklenburg Co., VA, deed records, Barbara is the daughter of one James Hester.

  3. Nancy C. Brame, Per her father's will, Nancy C. Brame married Joseph Cruos (sp?)

  4. Henry Brame, Henry Brame was mentioned in his father's will written in 1816 and is listed in the census of 1820 in Mecklenburg Co., VA.

  5. James Brame.

  6. Taroil (sp?) Brame.

  7. Milchazadick Brame.

  8. Thomas Brame.

  9. Walter Brame.

  10. Elizabeth Brame. Per an 1837 accounting of her father's will, Elizabeth Brame's husband may have been one John Hayes.

  11. Happy Brame. Happy may have been a contraction of Karanhappauch, a name used throughout the Brame history. Per an 1837 accounting of her father's will, Happy may have married one David N. Carter.
