Jacob Fox
Jacob Fox
was born 27 NOV 1750, in Philadelphia, PA, three months after his parents
Philip Fuchs and
Amelia Catherina (Rosenbom?). disembarked from
a ship from Europe. He lived with his parents in Philadelphia, and later
in Bucks Co., PA. Both he and his father are credited with fighting for
American Independence. Jacob married
Martha Huddleston,
daughter of Henry Huddleston and Mary Wilkinson, who owned a farm in
Bucks Co. close to the Foxes.
In the early 1780's, Jacob Fox and his family moved along with his father's
family and a number of friends and relatives to Rowan County, NC,
SE of present day Winston Salem. There Jacob owned and lived on a farm
just a few miles from his parents.
By 1800, Jacob and family had moved to the Fishing Creek area of Northern
South Carolina. There Martha Huddleston Fox passed
away. Recent genealogist have been unable to find her grave site. On 13
SEP 1834, Jacob Fox passed away while visiting, or living with, his son
