John Britton Hand was born 19 DEC 1794, son of Obadiah Hand and Sarah Britton. On 12 MAY 1818, he married Sarah Ann Everett, who was born 2 MAY 1803 in Bulloch Co., GA, daughter of Enoch Everitt and Margaret Bird.

John and Sarah Hand spent their lives in Mississippi as successful farmers in Wayne and Clarke Counties. John passed away 24 JAN 1843 and is buried in a marked grave in an old cemetery west of Stonewall, MS. Sarah passed away 28 DEC 1866 and is believed buried in an unmarked grave near John.
