SOME 168TH HISTORY

When I visited Fort Bliss in 1998, I stopped by the post museum and talked briefly to an employee there. When I mentioned the 168th Bn, this man reached for a book on a shelf behind him and found a short history of the 168th. He Xeroxed copies of the appropriate pages and I show the results below.

As the writeup shows, only a small part of the 168th history was associated with the Skysweeper--from the fall of 1952 until around summer of 1958. At that time, the Bn was switched to missiles for a few months. The organization was deactivated fall of 1958.
