My Olive Spinks Connection

  1. I, Albert Hunter Spinks, am connected to the Spinkses in two ways. One is, of course, through my name line and the other is through Olive Spinks, born 30 APR 1808 in Clark Co., AL, married to John Emery Lloyd in that same county. John and Olive moved to Kemper Co., MS, in the early to mid 1800's and lived out their lives there. Their daughter, Mary Elizabeth Lloyd, married Peter Early Spinks, my great-grandfather. I have read that the two Spinks families in Kemper had no clue if, and how, they were kin. Olive Spinks passed away 19 MAY 1853 and John E. Lloyd, 26 JUL 1886. Both are buried in Liberty Baptist Cemetery in Kemper Co. Her father was:

  2. Lewis Spinks. He was born in Randolph Co., NC, in the mid 1700's, m.Mary Pearce His father was:

  3. Enoch Spinks (????-1772). I believe Enoch Spinks was born in northern VA. We do know his wife's given name was Amy and that they settled in what is now Randolph Co., NC, southwest of Ramseur along Deep River. Court records prove that Enoch Spinks passed away in 1772. I feel there is a strong possibility that Enoch Spinks was son of:

  4. Enoch and Grace Spinks of northern Virginia. If this is true, he would be uncle of my Presley Spinks.
