Serena Jane Martin. He was killed at the Civil War Battle of Gaines
Mills 27 JUN 1862. His father was:
James Leroy Wilson. He was born in South Carolina about 1794, married Rachel Ray Shannon, born about 1798, daughter of John Shannon of Fairfield Co., SC. They are both buried in Friendship Presbyterian Church, Van Vleet, MS. He passed away 1860; she in 1871. His father was:
William Wilson.
William Wilson began obtaining land grants along Jackson Creek a few miles west of Winnsboro,
Fairfield Co., SC, in the early 1770's. He spent the rest of his life raising his family
there, passing away around 1819.
